Study & Stay NL

What is the Study & Stay Newfoundland & Labrador (NL) program?

The Study and Stay NL Program is a collaborative initiative of International Education Newfoundland and Labrador (IENL), Memorial University of Newfoundland (MUNL), and College of the North Atlantic (CNA). It is a free online 9-month program (October 2024 -June 2025) for exceptional, motivated international students in or entering their final year of full-time study at MUNL or CNA who are committed to living, working, and contributing to communities in Newfoundland and Labrador.

This province-wide program connects students directly to the local labour market, entrepreneurial ecosystem, and mentors in view of helping them build valuable professional and entrepreneurship skills, workplace knowledge, and meaningful connections through workshops, networking, and mentorship. The goal of the Study and Stay NL Program is to support international students to stay, live, work, and start up businesses in NL post-graduation. The program provides participants with valuable essential skills, resources, and support as they transition from student to professional.

What are the benefits of the program to international students?

Selected participants receive enhanced one-on-one and group support throughout the program to ensure they gain the resources, tools, and connections needed to launch a successful career and fulfilling life in Newfoundland and Labrador. The program offers a combination of training, resources, and guidance and provides opportunities for students to apply their skills, build connections and gain an understanding of the local workplace culture, labour market opportunities, and entrepreneurial ecosystem.
