I came to NL to see and experience North America and because Newfoundland seemed like an exotic place in the North Atlantic. I love it here because the people are really friendly, the nature is amazing and I fell in love with the Ocean. And I stayed in Newfoundland and Labrador because of the amazing people and infinite opportunities for my work.

Me coming on here to Canada, specifically Newfoundland and Labrador sheer coincidence. I’ve never heard of this place and I had no idea what this place was. My aunt that was living and work here as a nurse and merely suggested that I could apply for a course and while doing said course I might fall in love with it here. In one way I see it as destiny, I was meant to be here, and it was my mum’s dying wish to fulfil that for me, to get me to Canada and prove a better life. I wouldn’t change a thing, I’ve lived and enjoyed what this beautiful land has to offer and I’m looking forward to explore some more, but if there one thing I could wish it would be that my mum was alive to see me.

I was able to secure a full scholarship that matched me with Memorial University to pursue my higher studies in renewable energy. I wasn't sure what to expect when I first landed here, but since then I was continually growing as a person. I was able to experience many opportunities not common where I come from. It is easier here to make meaningful connections and form a network of successful individuals who are willing to mentor and help along the way. I couldn't help it not notice the support and push available for females in STEM and in the Tech industry. The province is growing and becoming an important hub for startups. I am planning to stay here after I graduate and give back to the community that helped me grow.
