Choose the category that most accurately and appropriately fits your unique business idea, taking into consideration all aspects of your vision, goals, and target audience. This will help ensure that your business is positioned effectively in the marketplace.
Early-Stage Idea
For entrepreneurs in the concept or validation stage. Pitch your innovative idea and receive mentorship to refine your business model.
Growth-Stage Venture
For businesses with a validated product or service seeking funding to scale operations and expand market reach.
Social Impact
For ventures addressing social or environmental challenges in Newfoundland and Labrador or globally.
Eligibility Requirements
Once accepted into Study and Stay NL, to participate in the SEED Pitch Competition, you must also:
- Have a viable business idea or existing venture that can be scaled in Newfoundland and Labrador
- Be committed to launching or operating your business in NL for a minimum of 2 years
- Be available to participate in all mentorship sessions, workshops, and pitch events
- Be prepared to present a 5-10 minute pitch to judges
- Have no more than 3 team members per entry (solo founders welcome)
- Agree to use prize funding exclusively for business development purposes
Important: SEED Competition applications open annually during the Study and Stay NL cohort year (typically February-March). Participants will be notified of application dates and requirements through the program.
